“No Show” PolicyEffective January 2012, South Bay Filmmakers is enacting a “No Show” policy.
If a member fails to attend two events during the calendar year in which they RSVP’d “yes” to, that member will be removed from the Meetup group. We understand that everyone is busy and last minute things happen, but it only takes a brief moment to change your RSVP from “yes” to “no.” Meetup.com has made this process super-easy via their web site as well as apps for iPhone, iPad, and Android mobile devices.
A Gentle ReminderAs such we would like to remind all members that our guest speakers do so
pro bono (which means “for free” if your Latin is a bit rusty);
guest speakers donate their time, experience and insights to our members at their own expense.Our
Leadership Team also donates their time pro bono to ensure the group has top-notch speakers, enjoy the benefit of rent-free venue, and convince sponsors to donate raffle prizes throughout the year.
Your RSVP MattersWhat you may not know is that
guest speakers are scheduled based on past-and-present attendance numbers. Out of courtesy and respect, we provide them with an accurate audience so they plan their presentation accordingly along with whatever other resources they bring.
Did you know that upwards of 20% of people who RSVP “yes” to a Meetup don't show up? We hope your dinner parties have a better “no show” rate.
Thank You!South Bay Filmmakers Leadership Team would like to thank all members for their attendance, enthusiasm, and contributions as we truly seek to be the best filmmaking Meetup community South of the 405 Freeway.
